How many photos/Images should I have for my Zine?
If you're planning to do the minimum, we'll need 12 images to fill one image per page. But we recomend that you have 25+ photos to take full advantge of the size of the zine, giving you a little more than 2 images per page (front and back of the Zine being each their own full sized images)
I'd like to design my own, what does Flic Film Lab need?
If you're taking on the creative challenge of designing your own Zine, we will need each page numbered IN ORDER in a PDF file format. If you're able, make sure its saved with 300dpi in CMYK colour mode to get the proper resolution and accurate colors. If you aren't able to send us a PDF, we'll try our best to convert it for you.
If you're planning for a photographic cover, please account of a 2.5 bleed area around the front and back covers. We are not responsible for the outcome if this is not followed.
How does your Zine Service work?
First you need to decide if you would like to design your Zine on your own or have us design it for you.
For Self Design - You will need to provide a PDF of all 12 pages (depending on how many pages you've chosen) that you would like to be included in your zine. The dimensions need to match the size zine you've rquested (8.5x11 or 5.5x8.5). We recommend that you use a graphic design program like Adobe or Canva. Once we receive your files, we will confrim the layout before printing
For Custom Design - You will need to provide us with photos/images, text, logos and any prefences on the layout or design of the Zine. We will do the rest! Once we have a draft, we will send you a copy for review. We'll work with you to adjust everything to your liking. Once you're satisfied with the layout, we will begin printing. (This is an added service and is not included with the printing cost) Once all your Zines have been printed and assembled, we will ship your order to the adress provided.
How are the zines assembled?
Our 12 Page Zine is created using 3 sheets of 12"x18" 80lb glossy paper. Once printed on they are folded saddle stiched and trimmed.
What goes on the front and back pages?
The standard cover layouts will be full sized images but both covers require a 2.5 inch bleed. If you're customizing your own, please also account for this as we are not responsible for the outcome if it is not followed.
Can I get less than 30 Zines?
We don't offer less than 30 Zines per order.
